Annear Art
We currently have the paintings of Judy Buxton hanging in our cafe gallery space.
We aim to alternate our artists over the coming years and welcome enquiries from interested parties.

Judy Buxton is our resident artist at The Green Table Café and Gallery on the Dartington Estate.
As part of our vision for The Green Table as a unique space where excellent food and art meet in a vibrant and exciting way, we are thrilled to be exhibiting a number of Judy’s original paintings. Café owner Mark Annear, son of Devon born abstract painter Jeremy Annear, has inherited a love of art from his father. The Green Table occupies the site of the gallery formerly known as Ryders which was run by Mark’s parents Dianne and Jeremy in the 1980’s. This association has kindled a desire in Mark to build on the tradition of running a café-gallery and bringing art into a social space.
Judy lives and works in South West Cornwall. She was born in Sidney, Australia in 1961 and moved to England and studied at Falmouth College of Art, Cornwall, receiving a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art. She then went on to complete a Post Graduate degree at The Royal Academy. After London, Judy moved to South West Cornwall and embarked on her exhibiting career. She has been the recipient of numerous art awards and prizes including the prestigious Sir Cyril Sweet Prize, The Hunting Art Prize Winner and NatWest Finalist and Prize Winner.
Exclusively represented in London by The Thackeray Gallery, Kensington, Judy has had numerous solo exhibitions over fifteen years and has also had many solo exhibitions in St. Ives, Cornwall, the Cotswolds and exhibits regularly in mixed shows around the UK.
Over the years, Judy has been a frequent visitor to Dartington and Totnes. Her love of the South West countryside has led her to create paintings at once tactile and deeply resonant of the landscape. Her love of nature and the changing seasons are explored and expressed in her work through her painterly textural handling and response with brush and palette knife.
